Spend the day creating an abstract 30cm x 30cm painting - learn to let go, be brave and paint outside the lines!  This is a workshop designed to encourage painting with expression, emotion and freedom with no pressure to produce a realistic image, whilst still considering composition and contrast within your painting.  We will start with a blank board and build up layers of abstract markmaking and paint to create an abstract artwork, with freedom to explore colour and form without constraints. 

All materials including a prepared board, paints, other media and mark-making tools will be provided and participants are free to bring along any favourite tools and materials if they wish. Light lunch provided.

A gelplate and a magazine ...

Send an afternoon with me in my studio learning various ways of transferring printed images, working creatively to produce your own altered images using paint, a roller and a gelplate. 

We will look at magazine image transfer, laser image transfer, collage transfers and reverse painting.  Create painterly, unique images for use in your art practice, on cards or to frame. 

No previous experience required and small group size allowing plenty of guidance along the way. All materials are provided, all you need is a 'can do' attitude and imagination!

Botanical Gelprinting

Use a gelplate, paint and a variety of leaves and flowers to create your own unique prints to frame, add to cards, or use in collage.  This workshop is suitable for everyone - from complete beginners to experienced artists keen to explore botanical gelprinting. By exploring various techniques using plant materials we will start with basic single prints, and progress to more complex layered prints which can either be enhanced using detailing or framed for display.

All materials are provided; all you need to bring is an inquisitive mind and a ‘let’s try’ attitude! Workshops are friendly and relaxed, with plenty of support offered along the way.
